On December 8, Symphony comes to the Cragsmoor Free Library! The member libraries of RCLS are changing our Integrated Library System (ILS), the computer program through which we serve our patrons and manage the collections. Horizon, our current system, will no longer be supported, so onward to an efficient system, Symphony. Things may be a little crazy here (more so than usual) around the 8th, so please have patience!
During the week surrounding the migration period, December 5th - 8th, there will be no fines. And though you will still be able to see and browse the current online catalog, you will not be able to place a hold. Once we migrate on the 8th our new online catalog, Enterprise, will be up and running, and you can then place holds. If you have been making any lists under "My Discoveries" in our current catalog, you will need to print them out, as they will not carry over. You can then re-create them in Enterprise.
Two new features that you might enjoy is the ability to pay your fines online with PayPal, and being able to pick up a requested book at another library location that may be more convenient to work, or for another reason. So, now you can request an item through our catalog, but have it delivered to another RCLS library. However, as always, we're just as happy to have you pay your fines in cash and pick up your interlibrary loan materials at the Library.
